PROVIDING VALUABLE INSIGHT FOR STARTUP FOUNDERS
Welcome (Bienvenidos),
Welcome to ATX Startup Attorney – I’m Frankie Arvelo.
My mission is to empower startup founders with the tools and resources they need to build successful companies. In particular I focus on aiding both first-time founders as well as founders from underrepresented backgrounds.
As someone who grew up poor and is a Black/Native American Latino I know firsthand the challenges that underrepresented founders face. My job is to be a champion for you and your startup.
My educational background includes a B.S. from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where I currently guest lecture a class on early stage financing, and an M.B.A. from the Texas McCombs School of Business.
I am a proud mentor at DivInc, an accelerator program that supports founders focused on social impact, a mentor for MassChallenge, and a friend of Techstars and Capital Factory. I’m an advisory council member for Women@Austin, a group that supports women entrepreneurs. I also serve as general counsel for Beam, an angel network in Austin that funds and supports women entrepreneurs.
In my “free” time I am the dad to my loving and brilliant daughter, Victoria, baby beast son, William, and the partner to the love of my life, my wife, Leah.
